i am a business owner in rhode sland is it against the law to require all final payments to be in cash certified check or money order ??

Any attorney will say a merchant can set the terms under which he or she does business. Don't forget credit cards. A lot of people use credit cards these days. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
