Legal Question in Business Law in Rhode Island
I recently tried to lease a space for a salon the gentleman said $1000 a month. I said fine I gave him a check for $2000 for security and the rent for upcoming july. He said I'll draw up the lease within a couple days, here are the keys. He calls me two days later and says I cant rent it out for less than $1200 a month, if you dont want to do it I'll give your money back. After discussing it w/ my wife we decided there is no way we can do business w/ someone like this. When I called him to meet to get my money and give him his keys he refused. What now?

Any attorney will say you need to send a demand letter. If this does not get your money back, you will need to sue for it, probably in small claims court. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
