Legal Question in Criminal Law in Rhode Island
I have been charged with embezzlement of over 100 dollars which is considered a felony. My employer fired me, and had me sign a statement stating that I had entered in coupons to the system but had not always given them the savings. He had told me that if i signed it he would not pursue prosecution. This was a lie.. is the statement inadmissible because of false pretenses? Also... what are the chances of this being plead down to a lesser misdemeanor charge.

Sir:
I suggest you meet in person with a good, honest, and most important of all, experienced criminal defense lawyer to discuss all the facts and circumstances, rather than try to get legal advice online for such a serious matter based on the minimal information provided. Many will do a limited engagement for just a few hundred dollars to hear you out and give advice.
