Question Regarding Alcohol Misdemeanor's
The story behind the question is a pretty complicated one. I am 21 years old and was recently at a college party of friends of mine. I went to this party as the designated driver for my two roomates. I was designated driver because I had work the next morning and I also did not want my two roomates driving home drunk. The problem is while I was at the party I was asked to hand out cups to people by one of my friends to people coming into the party. In no way was I dealing with the transaction of money and/or serving of alcohol to anyone, I was merely handing out cups for people to do whatever they wanted with. I figured that I'd do my friend the favor of handing out cups because I was the designated driver for my two roomates and found it as a good way for me to stay away from any of the alcohol for the night. The police later came to the house and pointed out four people that were working the party, I was said to be one of them. I was told to sign a summons sheet that said that I was selling alcohol without a license, which I now believe I really was not selling anything merely just handing out cups. My question is how do I plead to this accusation? not guilty or nolo contendre? I firmly believe I did not do any wrong.
