Can a subpoena be left in your mail box and it says you have to be in court that day This happen and we were gone for the weekend

In Rhode Island (RI) a subpoena must be served in hand to be valid. Leaving the subpoena in a mailbox is not valid service. You must comply with the subpoena only if you are validly served.
