Legal Question in DUI Law in Rhode Island

I rearended an off duty police officer. Basically all hell broke loose. I am prescribed vicodin for back surgery and there was no way I could walk the line with my back. Is there any defense to this charge. I refused the blood sample but offerd to take a breathlyzer. They didnt want that. They also took a prescription that belonged to me and was prescribed said it was evidence
