Legal Question in Family Law in Rhode Island

My 12 yr old daughter has been suspended from school and I'm questioning whether I have to tell my ex-husband. He has informed me in email that he will not have anything to do with her till she's an adult? Please advise. Thank you

If you have joint legal custody of your daughter then he should be informed since this substantially affects the well-being and education of your daughter in the very least.

Keep in mind that what he has said doesn't have anything to do with your legal obligation to keep him informed regarding the matter.
