Legal Question in Family Law in Rhode Island
Cannot attend a court date
I am unable to appear at a court dated involving medical re-embursement to the state. The case is resolved. My ex is was on state aid for a short time, but now is off. I was told it will just be dismissed, but I cannot attend. I am starting a new job and will be attending school out of state on that date. If I show up late, leave early or do not attend the school, I will be let go. I want to know if I really need to attend, and if I don't, what will happen. As mentioned, the case is pretty much resolved. I have contacted the courts and they say I must attend. I am in a tight spot and don't know what to do.
