Legal Question in Family Law in Rhode Island
divorce in the military
My daughter is married to a man in the air force. They have 1 child and only have been married just over a year. He has been unfaithful at least once which almost resulted in a discharge. The person he was with was an officer's daughter. She has moved back home and consulted with an attorny today. He said that the bottom line is that while heis in the military she can't divorce him no matter what unless he consents. Is that always true, even in the case of adultry?

Re: divorce in the military
A person can always get divorced. If the husband is in the military it may take longer and be more
expensive but a divorce should occur.
