Re: divorce,wife on drugs
Unfortunately your sentence is a little disjointed and I don't want to simply guess at what you are trying to ask. Please resubmit your question with more details and a specific question. Asking "what happens" in any situation is asking more for an exact result of what will happen in a set of circumstances. We can help you with your legal rights and what may happen yet your question doesn't ask about any court proceeding or legal rights, etc...
Please try to pose your question again with more information along these lines and your specific question either about the child, the parent, etc.. and I will be more than happy to try to help you.
Re: Divorce in RI , Wife on drugs,There is a child involved
You should speak to a Rhode Island (RI) Family law and Divorce attorney. If she is using illegal drugs such as cocaine or is abusing alcohol you could file an emergency motion for change of physical custody of the minor child. The Judge may order that her visitations with the child be supervised and may order her to get drug treatment. The judge may order her to get an immediate drug test with the Court drug testing program.
You could also be awarded sole custody of the minor child. Judges in the Rhode Island Family Court take drug use very seriously. I emphasize again that you need to contact a RI divorce Lawyer.
