Legal Question in Family Law in Rhode Island

QDRO question

My daughter received final divorce decree in 1998 after a year-long contested divorce from a batterer. It states she has a QDRO giving her 1400 shs of stock held in the ESOP plan of her ex's then employer, to be available in 2003. The person she spoke to at the employer said she knows nothing (it was not the Plan Administrator). Ex was termed after divorce. Divorce atty no longer works for the firm and is a state prosecutor. What are her options? I am a widow; we are both very tight financially. She desperately needs the award to help pay closing costs on a first-time house purchase.

Re: QDRO question

She has to bring the ex back to court on a contempt motion. She'll need a RI lawyer, but MIGHT be able to get the RI court to order ex to pay for it.
