Legal Question in Family Law in Rhode Island

Sons father and step mother will not allow me to have my visitation

What can I do? I can not afford an attorney. This has been going on for 8 years on and off. The step mother is also helping to interfere with my visitation by saying that she will leave if I am allowed my visits.

Re: Sons father and step mother will not allow me to have my visitation

There is not enough information to clearly help you. What has been going on for 8 years? Why does a step-mother's leaving have anything to do with your situation?

If you can't afford an attorney, have you taken the time to go to any of the law libraries in Rhode Island to try to research your rights?

Visitation is contained in the Rhode Island General Laws. Here is a link that will help. Take the bull by the horns. Knowledge plus action is power.
