Legal Question in Investment Law in Rhode Island
Mutual Fund Liquidation
Our mutual fund company (located in Rhode Island) is liquidating a fund we have been invested in for several years. They are opening a new fund as alternative. This liquidation involves a large loss of money to us. There seems to be no way to recoup our loss. This does not seem like a financial risk situation, as they are closing the fund and we have no choice. How do we find out our legal position, such as suing or criminal charges?

A lawyer with expertise in the area would have to review the fund documentation and have you provide him/her with the facts and circumstances of your particular investment.
