Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Rhode Island

i paid my lawyer $500 to go to court with me today because i got pulled over with a suspended licensed i told him i can go alone but he said they expected him there and that he had to go. today was court day and he was no where to be found i call him and i don't get any answers. he basically robbed me we had a deal and the truth is he doesn't even have to go to court with me.
