medication should have not been perscribed.

12 yr old, add and ptsd history of heart murmur,was

perscribed wellbutrine taking it for 1 yr, goes to doctor with chest pains and was told it was his heart

should not of been on weelbutrin, must stop immediatly

reaction for stopping meds could lead to seasures. is

the perscribing doctor responsable for giving the child this medication causing his problems now. I double checked with an associate and it is clearly in his file that he had a heart murmur. wellbutrine should not be givin with patients who have heart murmurs.

Based on what you have written it appears that the prescribing doctor breached his duty to the 12 year old.

However, it is not clear what, if any damages he suffered as a result of taking it for a year.

Was it just a single incident of chest pains? He apparently did not have seizures; only that he COULD have them.

Has his heart been permanently damaged? Is it to soon to tell?

As you can see, there are many questions remaining to fully and accurately answer yours.

You ask if the prescribing doctor is responsible for causing his problems.

I would need to know more about what problems he is encountering.

Then, we need to rule out any other causes.

Then we need to confirm your allegations that the medication should not have been prescribed under the circumstances.

Making a mistake is not enough; sufficient damages must also result.
