Can I ask a tenant to vacate for no reason with a month-to-month rental?

I have a tenant who is unhappy with what I have provided to her in terms of lodging. She has functional, heat, electricity, and hot and cold running water. The interior of the house is pleasant and I recently informed her that I would be installing replacement windows and making additional aesthetics as needed. Apparently this is not good enough for her, and she has made many insulting remarks about my landlordship. Basically, I'd like to ask her to leave with a ''30-day notice to vacate tenancy letter'' and possibly give her an extension if she has difficulty as she has a small child, (19 mths old to be exact.)

In Rhode Island, I believe it is required that you have the letter delivered certified mail, but it does not specify how it should be worded or if you have to provide a ''reason.''

A landlord does not need to specify any reason to terminate a month to month tenancy. That said, however, a landlord may not terminate any tenancy for a discriminatory or otherwise illegal reason (i.e. retribution for the tenant filing minimum housing code complaints).
