Based on the first poster's reply, it appears that the marriage should be recognized by Russia. The other factor is whether Colorado recognizes your marriage as valid, in which case you would need to get a divorce, even if for some reason Russia did not recognize the marriage as valid.

According to the Family Code of the Russian Federation, the Russian Government recognizes any marriage that has been lawfully performed abroad in accordance with the Laws of that country.

The exceptions to this rule are the following situations when the marriage was granted between:

1. The persons where at least one partner is still legally married to another spouse or,

2. two close relatives (immediate family members including parents, children, brothers, sisters, etc.), or,

3. an adopted child and adoptive parent, or

4. any partner that is recognized by the Court as mentally incapable or partially mentally capable.
