Legal Question in Criminal Law in Saudi Arabia

My cousin has been detained in Dammam, Saudi Arabia for an alleged case of theft. I do not have any particulars but know that the consular agency will assist but will take a while as I am sure they have several cases before this one. If we decide to hire a local attorney in Saudi, how much does it usually cost? If my cousin gets convicted for thjeft, what is usually the punishement for this kind of crime?

the cost is subject to agreement with the lawyer.The punishment is amputation of the hand from the wrist if the crime is proved but there are so many defences but I need to know all facts in order to advice you.
