Legal Question in Business Law in South Carolina
Auction fraud through Ebay
In fact, I purchased and paid the merchandise through Ebay 3 months ago.
Since the seller had received the payment which was cashier's check by seller's demand, he literally abondoned me. Of course, I have never received the merchandise he promised me after receiving the payment. He is baed on south carolina. Can I have a help from law enforcement officer of south carolina?

Re: Auction fraud through Ebay
What you describe is fraud and should be reported to the authorities in the state you sent the check, and to the federal authorities given that the mail was used as was a bank. If the sum involved was relatively small, civil action is not likely to yield you satisfaction. You may want to sue in small claims.
PS I presume you notified e-bay.
Re: Auction fraud through Ebay
You can always ask law enforcement for help, but whether you are likely to get help probably depends upon how much you lost. If your cashiers check was for more than $50,000, you might even get the FBI interested. If you lost a hundred bucks, you are not likely to get much help from anybody, though eBay has a procedure for making complaints...
