Legal Question in Business Law in South Carolina

stolen rental furniture

I own a temporary healthcare staffing company in which we provide temporary housing and rental furniture for our employees. One of my employees was fired from his position at a hospital in SC last week for poor performance. After he vacated the apartment we had rented for him, the landlord advised us that the employee had stolen the washer/dryer, table/chairs, and caused severe damage. We also are pretty sure he stole some of the rental furniture in there as well. Of course we cannot reach this employee. What legal channels can we pursue to obtain these monies?

Re: stolen rental furniture

It sounds like you would need to file suit against the former employee. Of course, there may be an issue of finding him/her to serve the lawsuit on them and, of course, collecting any judgment you may receive against them.

If you would like to discuss any issues further, please feel free to contact my office. My contact information is below. Thank you.
