Legal Question in Business Law in South Carolina

I was supposed to have had a refund check issued to me from a business. That business took months to return the check when it should have taken a week. But, they finally returned the check.

This happened during a time where I was having financial difficulty so I was upset about it.

Later on, I assume that because of all the earlier confusion, they sent me a second check for the same amount. Because I was so dissatisfied with their service I went to a check cashing business and cashed it anyway. Now the check cashing business is threatening to �press charges� because the check was not paid due to stop payment.

Any attorney will say you need to deal with the check cashing business by refunding what they gave you. They are the innocent party in the transaction. Consult with a good business attorney in your area for specific advice.
