Legal Question in Consumer Law in South Carolina
Now they want to charge me $300!!! It's their own fault!!!
High pressure salesperson suckered me into tour-a-resort packg. (They sell vacation club membership) ~$129. Iknow, stupid of me.
Certain qualifications apply to take tour. Told them I didn't qualify under their rules. They told me it was O.K., take tour anyway.
I get to Charleston SC and they say, ''no you don't qualify, rules strictly enforced. I get kicked off package after 1 night in motel. (3nights 4day package) + a 2nights 3days package if I complete tour etc.
Been getting run around ever since. (2 people claiming to be the same person, everyone saying they can't authorize but not being forthcoming about who can, etc.) Finally someone agreed to refund $129 to be credited Monday 3/20th. Not credited so I call person he referred me to.
Got her boss, who says that there are no refunds and that if tour not taken for any reason they usually charge $300 so they're letting me off the hook by not charging that. (Probable will now considering current behavior)
Unfortunately, efforts to tape phone conversations unproductive and I was dumb enough not to get the ''O.K. come anyway'' in writing.
Do I have any legal recourse to get $129 back or protect me from $300 charge if charge that?

You need to look at the terms of the membership.
