Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in South Carolina

My employer received an income execution from the civil court for the city of new york county of queens for a judgment with an entry date of August 13, 1999 for the amount of $15,562.67 whereas the original amount was $6,562.61 and this came to my employer from the law office of Kane Kane Kane & Associates Ltd. This was a vehicle that was repoed. I live in Florence, South Carolina. Isn't the statue of limititation to collect six years?

I do not know anything about New York law. New York may have a different period for judgments and that would be controlling but in South Carolina. Judgments are good for 10 years. However, wages cannot be garnished for civil judgments in South Carolina. If your employer did not receive something from a court in South Carolina then the letter should be ignored.
