Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in South Carolina
Judgements
I have a judgement against me, it is for $8700.00. It is a credit card debt. It is one year old. I am trying to pay it off, but they said it has grown to $14000.00 plus. Can a judgement increase that quickly.

Re: Judgements
In South Carolina, once a debt has been reduced to a judgment, it draws interest at the legal rate, which I believe is 12% per year now. I don't see how it could increase that quickly in one (1) year unless they have added prejudgment interest and attorney fees. I would need to have more information so if you want to contact me, please do so at 1-864-231-8870.
