Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in South Carolina
Non-Jury Mortgage Foreclosure
I have received a summons to appear in court for a default in a property loan. I no longer want the property and I have notified the mortgage company in writing that I can't afford to pay the loan and would like the property to go into foreclosure. What will happen if I don't answer to the summons?

Re: Non-Jury Mortgage Foreclosure
Failure to answer the suit will result in your loss of the property. However, you may lose the property and still owe an amo0unt on the debt. Seek advice from an attorney who can tell you your possible liabilities.
