Re: 1st degree bugulary

This particular charge carries up to Life in prison. However, each case is different not all people get the same sentence. It all depends on whether they plead guilty or had a trial, how bad the particular crime was, the defendant's criminal record, etc. I have handled these cases here in South Carolina and have had the charge reduced to a lesser charge, such as Burglary 2ed Degree, or 3ed Degree or even Breaking and Entering. I have also had clients that had a real bad record and consequently received a much more severe sentence. It all depends. Is this the only charge the individual has pending? Robert Johnston
