assault/battery
my stepson was convicted of a/b of a high and aggravated nature is this a misdemeanor?

Believe it or not, yes it is. Its a very strange and unusal law in that almost all misdemeanors are crimes that carry less than a year in jail. Assault and Battery High and Aggravated carries up to 10 years. Despite that, it is classified as a misdemeanor.
