assult charge

17 yr old charged with assult happened in a mall..video on u tube. didnt know of video,can it be used as evidence, and who would bring charges since on private property.what would be our first move and should he talk to the police, have a arrest warrant, what is the best way to handle this situation.

Chances are the video would be admissible, although at this point that is just a guess as I know very little about this situation. The State would bring the charges and it makes no difference if it was private property or not. I am reluctant to advise people to speak with the police unless I know everything there is about the situation and I don't here. The best way to handle this is to go consult with an attorney, let the attorney review the arrest papers and go from there.
