Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
Breach of Trust
I was arrested for felony breach of trust greater than $5000. This was based on an employer issued credit card on which I had some personal charges that I planned to reimburse. The financial secretary for the company (unknown to me) was embezzling, and had done so for at least 5 years. She had given me authorization for the personal charges. I was told she was the appropriate person to handle the finances of the company. Does my situation meet the requirement for breach of trust?

Re: Breach of Trust
You case depends on whether she had the legal authority to tell you that and whether you can then prove she told you that. Right now its not clear and I would need more information. What county was this in? Robert Johnston
