what kind of sentence does a breach of trust over 5000 carry if your a first time offender?

The South Carolina Code reads as follows for Breach of Trust Over $5,000.00
Felony and, upon conviction, must be fined in the discretion of the court or imprisoned not more than ten years if the amount is five thousand dollars or more.
This is only the maximum sentence and does not mean that a person who has been charged with this would get the maximum sentence. Depending of certain things, the charge could be reduced or probation could be given.
