Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
i CASHED A CHECK WRITTEN TO ME THAT ENDED UP HAVING INSUFFICENT FUNDS. i HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH FRAUDING A BANKING INSTITUTION. iF I REPAY THE DEBT TO THE BANK BEFORE THE COURT DATE HOW WILL THAT AFFECT THE CASE?

If you simply cashed a check that was written to you by someone, and that person had insufficient funds, then why would you want to repay the bank? Wouldn't that be the responsibility of the person who wrote the check? If you paid the bank the money, wouldn't that tend to make you look guilty?
On the other hand, if you committed some sort of fraud on the bank, and there is evidence to that effect, then paying the bank back might help you with the prosecutor and/or judge.
It really sounds like you need to discuss this with a criminal lawyer and be very candid with him/her so you get the best advise available.
