Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
Cdv
In the state of SC, Myself and my son's father both have pending CDV charges. He said that I pushed him and hit him with a baby bag. He now wants to drop the charges against me if I would agree to drop mine. Can we do that or will the state continue to try our cases.

Re: Cdv
In SC, the victim does not have a right to drop the charges. It is entirely up to the prosecution. It does not sound like the CDV charges that you folks are dealing with involve very serious allegations. Therefore, are other possibilities other than prosection. It would be helpful to know if either of you have ever been convicted of a violent crime and if you live in SC or not. You can call or email if you want more information. Robert Johnston
