South Carolina has two court systems for criminal cases. One is Municipal Court (City Court) and Magistrate Court. The other is General Sessions. Municipal and Magistrage courts handle misdemeanors and General Sessions handles felonies. You obviously have one case in each.

There is two CDV charges in SC. One is a felony and is called Criminal Domestic Violence High and Aggravated. The other one is Simple Criminal Domestic Violence.

My firm is in the Myrtle Beach area of Horry County. I don't know where you are, but if you need help with these charges I represent people throughout the state.

You need to talk with an attorney about your charges. CDV cases are often handled different from most crimes because the victim is a household or family member and often they do not want the person prosecuted after some time has passed, or they do not want to testify. Therefore a defense attorney will often take a different approach in defending these.

Email me or call me if you have any questions. Becasue I am a defense attorney my office rings to my cell phone on weekends.
