Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
Child sex abuse
Our daughter (age 14)told my my wife last night that a family friend had sexually assaulted her approximately 5 years ago. This man who assaulted her, we have found out, is a convicted sex offender who was not registered in SC at that time. He presently resides in Missouri now. Is there any recourse we can take or who do we report this to now?

You should contact the police and/or the county solicitor's office and report it. They will know how the matter should proceed.
