Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

Criminal Domistic Violence

Recently, I called the police and reported that my wife was suffering from depression and threating to cut her wrists. They ask me to restrain her, then she hit me trying to get away when I was holding her. When the police arrived I explained and ask that she be taken to a hospital for evualation. Instead, they arrested her because she hit me trying to get away. She is facing charges on Criminal domistic violence. When she was being questioned by the police she stated that I was restraining her and she was trying to get away. They did not give much attention to what she was saying. Instead of helping they instead inflected more emotional damage. She ended up in the Physical Emergency Room 3 days later after taking 12 sleeping pills. Is there no common sence in justice?

Re: Criminal Domistic Violence

You have been caught up in the "no tolerance" for CDV policy by the Attorney General. The state will not normally drop this case for any reason even if the victim does not want to participate. You need compentent representation to assist you and you wife, or she could end up with a criminal record for life.
