Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
My daughter was taken to jail and given tickets for resisting police and public disorderly conduct. She was at McDonald's only to stop and use the bathroom. The police were harassing the kids but calling it 'crowd control'. There was a video but only can be gotten through the courts or police department. Can the tape be viewed before the court date? Should she plead guilty and pay the ticket fines or plead not guilty and have a jury trial?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Pleading guilty and and requesting a jury trial are not necessarily her only options. Every case is treated different. The best thing your daughter can do is have a conversation with an attorney who can ask all of the important questions and advise her according to the facts, circumstances and evidence of her particular situation.
