Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

Drinking in Public

I received a drinking in public ticket that carried a fine and misdemeanor charge with it. I opted not to pay the fine and have a trial instead so as to avoid a misdemeanor on my record. If I am found guilty at my Jury trial will I simply be made to pay the fine or can I be put in Jail?

Re: Drinking in Public

That charge carries jail, fine or both. Have you considered Pretrial Intervention or Conditional Discharge?
