Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

What should I do?

I dropped off a prescripion that my friend altered for me and her dad was paying for it. Yes I did know about it but, how should i plead, when I finally gave police statment! One more question if a person trys to do a bust if they have anything on you , do they come in then and get you or can they wait two days later or as long as they want to. Do I need public defender or lawyer? I have never had drug charge!

Re: What should I do?

Sorry, but I couldn't begin to tell you how to plead without knowing more about the case. Usually, people plead to a charge to avoid being found guilty at a trail, in which case the sentence is usually harsher. You really need to go over the case with a lawyer.

As far as waiting two days before arresting someone, that can be done as long as there is probably cause.

Lastly, a public defender is a lawyer. They are state paid lawyers for people who cannot affort a private lawyer. Good luck.
