Re: used a fake name on internet

I get similar questions like this from people from all over the state of South Carolina. Which is fine because I have a criminal defense firm that represents people throughout the entire state. The problem with these situations is there really isn't anything you can do to stop the criminal process from beginning. If law enforcement has what is called, Probably Cause for a person's arrest, then you cannot stop that from happening. What you can do is be prepared for when it does happen. That would basically involve retaining a criminal defense attorney, lining up money and/or a bonding company so that you can post bond to get out of jail. Consulting with an retaining an attorney at this state can still be an extremely wise thing to do. I don't know what all you have said to their questions, but its very advisable to speak with a lawyer before answering anymore. The other thing that I look into at this stage of a case, is if there is any evidence that I need to immediately get and preserve. Sometimes certain evidence needs to be obtained immediately. You are more than welcome to email me or call if you have other questions or want to talk about this. Robert Johnston [email protected]
