Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

How can an individual obtain a copy of the pre-sentence report after sentencing? Who is able to get a copy of the pre-sentence report such as a wife,fiance,girlfeiedn or close relative?

Are you referring to Federal Court? You must be. The individual that has the most right to it, is the defendant himself. That is almost automatic. All they need to do is request it. If this is in state court, that is quite a bit different and a bit mord to obtain. But it can still be obtained.

Assuming this is Federal Court, and its needed for some sort of an appeal reason, then due to the time-frames involved it would be helpful if I knew exactly the date when the person was convicted. It might be a good idea to get it from the Public Defender. Its also possible to get it from the defendant himself, or his office. The prosecutor should also have it and its probably in the courts record. If this is really important and you have a serious timing issue, then don't wait for just one er
