Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
Insanity Plea SC
What is the definition of ''insane'' in SC? I witnessed my ex boyfriend murder someone and he is in jail awaiting trial and he was hospitalized 1 week before for attempting suicide, could he use the insanity defense? Would I have to testify to what I saw when he attempted suicide?

Legal insanatiy gets quite complicated and is far more involved than I able to answer here. Long story short, it means that a person could not tell right from wrong. As far as you testifying, that would be up to the prosecutor and I do not have enough information to advise you on that. Robert Johnston [email protected]
