Not always, but often accessory charges carry the same potential sentence as the actual crime itself. Accessory and conspiracy are very serious charges. Every case is treated differently depending on the facts, evidence, the defendant's actual participation, the defendant's records, whether they plead guilty, or go to trial, or the cases is referred to one of the programs available as a substitute for prosecution, etc.

The best thing you can co is immediately retain an attorney. If you cannot afford one, then apply for a Public Defender.

If your case is in Horry or Georgetown Counties, or nearby, I would be happy to talk with you. I'm a criminal defense attorney with 20 years experience and my office is located in the Myrtle Beach area. Robert J. Johnston, Attorney. Email: [email protected].
