The rules of evidence are different on exactly what the circumstances are. When you say, "Is it legal.......," I assume your asking if it is admissible. It could be, but its hard to say without knowing exactly what you are referring to. A lot of things are admissible, and then its up to the judge or the jury to consider the credibility and truthfulness.
