Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

My name was listed in a motion for discovery as a police informant in a drug case but I did not work as a police informant on the case or offer any kind of assistance to the police on the case. I am know being harrassed and threated by the people that were charged and convicted in the case. What can or should I do to clear my name and expose the corrupt officers.

I am sorry to hear about what you are going through. I wish I could tell you a quick fix, but I can't. The legal system can be a very difficult system to deal with, and without the necessary legal background, education, and so forth, its just too difficult to tell you everything you would need to know.

Since this is so serious, and involves the police, solicitor's office, not to mention the people that are threatening you, I think you need to strongly consider retaining an attorney. A lawyer can seek all of the discovery, see exactly what has been said, by whom, in what type document, and deal with all of this accordingly.

If you are being threatened and you fear for your safety, then you need to consider contacting the police yourself. Possibly a different police agency than the one that you are referring to. Again, consult with an attorney, who can either handle this for you, or give you the proper guidance.
