Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
i live in florida...i was pulled over and profiled and searched and cited for simple poss. of marajuana while passing thru south carolina ,,had 1 joint..no dui was not smoking nor under influence as i passed all there sobriety tests....officer gave me a ticket and sent me home...ticket fine says 570$...officer said i can pay fine ...do i have to go to court there? says court date on ticket? or will paying fine suffice?and will i have a record? ticketed in jasper county south carolina

The best thing you can do to be on the safe side is call the court to be sure. And yes, if you pay the fine then you will be convicted of it and it will be on your record. Depending on whether you have a criminal record already, you might qualify for a program whereby you won't have a record. You can email me if you need more information.
