Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
First off i live in South Carolina. At 2:00 in the morning my ex boyfriend kicked my door in and beat up a guy that was there and broke my window doing so he was gone before the cops got there. The guy he jumped on wouldn't press charges but i did for him kicking the door in. The cop charged him with burglary 1st. So my question to you is will the charges stick and if so how much time do you think he will get?

I would like to help you and answer your question, but I cannot. These cases have a lot of different factors that are considered. You did a good job of asking your question, but a lawyer would need to know everything, and I mean everything, about the case in order to do a good job of giving you an answer. Right now, I don't know if he has a criminal record, if there was any witnesses, if there was finger prints, if he gave a statement to the police and if so what he said, if he is alleging that he has an alibi, meaning he was somewhere else and if so, if someone is willing to back up his story, and the list goes on and on of what a lawyer would need to consider before answering a question like this. The person who is in the best position to tell you would be the Solicitor that is handing the case. I wish you well.
