nanny cam

Would it be illegal for me to video tape my babysitter and her not know about it -- I suspect abuse/neglect and I just want to observe how she interacts with my daughter.

I think I would be doing you an injustice if I just answered your question and let it go at that. You need to call your county's Solicitors office and get advice. What you are suspicious of is serious and could amount to criminal actions. I would do this immediately and not leave your child with the baby sitter until you speak with the prosecutor.
