Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina
non-sexual harassment issue
I ended a relationship in October 2002 and expressly told the other party that I did not want to hear from him again. I've told him this clearly and explicitly more than once. However, he continues to use the internet to find ways to communicate, though I do not ever respond. This is interrupting my life and I am not sure how to stop it. He does not seem to take me seriously when I tell him to leave me alone. I'm not sure this is ever going to stop. What would be the best way to handle the situation?

Re: non-sexual harassment issue
This is intended as general infomation only and is not to be construed as legal advise. A lot of people in your situation will send the person a certified letter telling them to have no contact with you whatsoever, in any fashion. If the person contacts you again, take the letter to the Magistate in your county and ask for a Restraining Order. If you fear for your safety, call the police and also contact the Magistrate.
