How to Plead

Can I plead Nolo Contendre on a charge of '' Attempting to Possess a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphenalia as a first time offender.

Yes you can. However, it will be treated just like a guilty plea. You will still have a conviction, a criminal record and you will still be sentenced by the court. This will be considered a criminal drug conviction on your record and will always be there. If you are a first time offender, the far smarter thing to do is see if you can get into PTI, which stands for Pre-Trial Intervention. It is an alternative to prosecution. You will do community service, and when you are finished they will destroy the arrest record. There will be no fine, no jail, no probation, no trial, and most importantly, no record.
