Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

I was in a pool hall with 4 other people including the renter/bartender of the hall .The bartender was standing behind the bar when one of the 4 people ran out the back door. i turned around when i saw the police out side through the glass door of the pool hall i then went to the end of the bar where the back door was wide open and said to the bartender the police is out side and walk away . The police came an told me to go back to the bar they looked around an found a gun an cocanie in the trash can an told me it was mine they arrest me an did not charge any one but me not even the bartender. They did charge the bartender with not haveing an alcohol lic.what should be my best defence

You have been charged with possession of a firearm and possession of drugs. Your best defense is probably that you were not in possession of either. Without seeing the police report, the warrant, statements, etc., its hard to give you anymore information. I would assume that the police decided it was you for a reason, but I don't know what that reason is. If I knew more details I could give you more adivse. You are welcome to call or email.
